Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

We have now had six well attended meetings of a group of enthusiastic residents and have made good progress in planning events for the weekend of 2nd to 5th June 2012.

Examples of some of the events are: Ceilidh and bar at the Paddock Granby on Saturday 2nd June; Bonfire and fireworks on Monday evening 4th June; special church service and bell ringing on Sunday 3rd June; street parties and children’s entertainment on Monday afternoon 4th June; Royal Scarecrow competition over the entire holiday period. There will be another meeting in Granby Village Hall on Wednesday 16th May at 7.30pm. The meeting will last one hour. Everyone welcome and all offers of help gratefully received.

On Saturday 12th May we held a Diamond Jubilee decoration making day at the village hall This was well attended and some the creative results will be displayed over the DJ weekend.
