Granby & Sutton WI Annual report to Annual parish Meeting 2010-2011 – Rosemary Cranswick
Continues to thrive. Approaching its 70th Anniversary in Jan 2012. G & S WI was instituted in wartime, to bring together the women of the community to be a more effective force in the war effort. We are still proud of the part we play in the local community.
Another busy year, with a wide variety of activities. As well as the excellent programme of speakers we had a lot of fun during the summer being involved in the national WI –TRI challenge. Every member of G & S WI, irrespective of age or infirmity participated by walking, cycling or swimming. We also enjoyed craft workshops and tuition in making hanging baskets. We even got the chance to ask a question on “Gardeners Question Time”. One of our happiest events was the Summer Garden Party attended by the Federation Chairman and hosted by Doreen Watson
